Business Partner – Forward Trading

Are you passionate about turning strategy into execution? Do you thrive in a fast-paced trading environment where your impact is visible? Want to work closely with leadership to make sure the right priorities get the right focus—every time?

If you're structured, solution-oriented, and energized by accountability, this is your chance to play a key role in a growing trading organization.

At Norlys Energy Trading, we’re on an ambitious journey—scaling operations and expanding our reach across markets. As a Business Partner in the Forward Trading department, you'll drive the strategic engine behind execution. You'll be based in Aalborg but work closely with colleagues in Aarhus and across teams, supporting initiatives that include our expanding presence in Asia. The role involves weekly travel to Aarhus (1–2 times per week) for in-person collaboration with stakeholders.

About Us

We are a dynamic and fast-growing company operating in the energy trading space. We're building a best-in-class trading setup with strong commercial focus, high data maturity, and a collaborative mindset. This role sits at the intersection of Business Transformation & Development and Forward Trading—bringing clarity, structure, and momentum to our strategic agenda.

Key Responsibilities

  • Drive execution of department strategy by translating high-level goals into clear, actionable steps.
  • Maintain and track OKRs to ensure relevance and measurable outcomes.
  • Prepare structured decision-making materials for leadership meetings, boards, and risk reviews.
  • Coordinate across trading teams and the wider organization to eliminate roadblocks and improve execution.
  • Monitor resource bottlenecks across cross-organizational projects, ensuring alignment with commercial priorities.
  • Provide high-level support to the Trading Director to manage priorities, streamline communication, and prepare decisions.
  • Anticipate needs and act as a trusted advisor to maintain focus and follow through.
  • Set expectations, implement follow-ups, and ensure regular reporting on results.
The role succeeds when the department has maximum strategic momentum and a determined and relentless focus on realizing our commercial ambitions.

  • Industry experience is a plus.
