Software Developer – Algorithmic Trading Systems

Join us at Norlys Energy Trading (NET) as a Software Developer and build the software backbone of our algorithmic trading operations. This is your chance to code at the heart of energy markets while learning from a top-tier trading and data science team.

At NET, we operate at the intersection of energy, data, and innovation. Our Intraday Trading team in Aalborg is responsible for the platform powering our algorithmic trading across multiple continents. From optimizing trade strategies to building scalable software tools, your work will be key to our ongoing success in the fast-moving energy sector.

Key Responsibilities

  • Collaborate closely with quantitative researchers and traders to develop new trading algorithms and systems
  • Build tools that support rapid exploratory analysis of market data
  • Contribute to scalable, high-performance application architecture aligned with best practices and evolving technologies

What We’re Looking For

  • A master’s degree in computer science, software engineering, data science, or a related field
  • Proven experience in software development
  • Strong skills in C# (or similar programming languages)
  • Passion for learning and improving continuously

Bonus Points For

  • Experience in algorithmic trading or energy sector environments
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Azure or similar cloud platforms
  • Understanding of data pipeline tools (streaming/batch)
  • Experience with Microsoft SQL Server, PostgreSQL, Timescale, or other database systems
  • Introductory knowledge of data science, ML, or statistics
