Student Assistants – Forward Trading (Aarhus)

Are you passionate about data, markets, and energy systems? Do you want hands-on experience in algorithmic or discretionary trading while you study? Ready to dive into real-world challenges and work alongside expert traders and analysts?

Norlys Energy Trading in Aarhus is on the lookout for up to four talented Student Assistants to join our Forward Trading team. Whether you're into algorithms, data, or markets, this is a great opportunity to sharpen your skills and contribute to something impactful.

About Us

At Norlys Energy Trading, we optimize renewable energy across Europe. We combine deep market knowledge with advanced data analytics and a collaborative culture to trade electricity efficiently and sustainably. We’re looking for curious, driven students to become part of a team where learning and impact go hand in hand.

What You'll Be Doing

  • Start with an introduction period where you'll work hands-on with data, coding, and energy market basics
  • Learn our trading systems and how we use analytics to make decisions
  • Collaborate with a specialized trading team based on your skills — either algorithmic or discretionary
  • Dive into real trading environments with tasks involving analytics, coding, and understanding complex systems
  • Work efficiently and reliably as part of a high-performing, supportive team
We’re looking for students who are curious, motivated, and excited to dive into complex systems — not just top grades but real interest and energy

What We’re Looking For

  • Enrolled university student (ideally just after your bachelor’s degree) in economics, math, physics, computer science, or something similar
  • Solid with numbers and confident in working with data
  • Some coding experience — specific languages aren’t important, but curiosity and skill are
  • Committed to working at least one day per week (excluding exam periods), and more when your schedule allows
  • Genuinely motivated by the fields of trading, energy systems, and data analytics — we value drive more than grades

What We Offer

  • A paid student position with real responsibilities and growth potential
  • A flexible setup that respects your studies and exam schedules
  • Exposure to the energy markets through both algorithmic and discretionary trading teams
  • Mentorship from experienced professionals and a team-oriented culture
  • The opportunity to explore a future career in trading, tech, or analytics

We expect to start interviews after week 31 and aim to onboard shortly after.
