Why conversations at E-World still matter

E-World is one of the few events where most players in the European energy market meet every year in the same place at the same time.
Traders, producers and other decision-makers are all trying to answer the same underlying question:
What does the market look like from here?

That is why we go.

Not to present complete answers, but to be part of the conversations that influence them

Many of the decisions we make together with our clients are taken under some level of uncertainty. Market conditions are changing. Assumptions are tested. Timing matters. In that environment, staying close to how others see the market is part of doing the job properly.

For our clients, that means decisions are informed by more than models and scenarios. They are grounded in how the market is actually experienced right now.

E-World gives us the opportunity to listen carefully to how the market is perceived across the value chain. How clients navigate structural uncertainty, changing risk appetites and a market where long-term decisions are increasingly made under short-term pressure.

They influence how we think, how we assess risk and how we prepare for the decisions that follow after the fair.

Eddie Weissenborn on listening before making decisions

For Eddie Weissenborn, Lead Originator for Germany, E-World has a very meaningful purpose.

“A lot of important market discussions happen informally. Not during reporting sessions or presentations, but in conversations where people are honest about the topics they care about and/or the challenges they are dealing with,” he says.

“For me, E-World is about listening closely to clients and peers and understanding how their view of the market is evolving. That helps me test my own assumptions before they become decisions. And just as importantly, it gives clients a space to test theirs.”

According to Eddie, those discussions are especially important in a market where conditions can change faster than models.

“You can do all the analysis you want, but if you are not testing your thinking against the market, you are missing something. Being present and part of those conversations is our responsibility and commitment to our clients.”

Who will you meet at E-World?

At E-World, clients will meet the same teams and experts they work with outside the fair: originators and traders who are directly involved in the day-to-day dialogue and decision-making.

This year, we have increased our presence at E-World and will be co-exhibiting at Montel’s #happystand. Being part of the Montel stand makes it easier to have informal, unplanned conversations during the day. Often, those turn out to be the most valuable ones.

Colleagues you can meet all week:

Eddie Weissenborn
Michael Mikkelsen
Huy Hoang
Naja Lyngholm Skovlyk

All of them work closely with clients across markets and are available to discuss current developments, perspectives and concrete challenges.

If you already know who you want to talk to, we recommend setting time aside in advance and get in touch now.
(Great conversations shouldn’t be rushed.)

What we take home from E-World

E-World is not a break from daily work. It is an extension of it.

The insights and perspectives gathered in Essen are brought back and discussed internally. They become part of how we prepare, challenge each other and support our clients when decisions need to be made.

And that is why we value the opportunity to meet you and have these valuable conversations in person.

We are always interested in speaking with people who work closely with the energy market and share our approach to collaboration and decision-making. You can find our current open positions here.
