Business Developer
Do you see opportunities in complex trading markets—and want to turn them into real business? In this role, you will take the lead in expanding Norlys Energy Trading’s footprint & driving development initiatives, working closely with trading and across the organisation.
The team
You will join the Business Transformation & Development team, which works across Norlys Energy Trading with business development and implementation. The team focuses on developing and turning new opportunities into business models, products and operational requirements, working closely with areas such as trading, trade operations, risk management, back office, software development, etc.
The role
As a Business Developer, you will take on a central role in driving and implementing new initiatives within power and gas markets. You will work at the intersection of commercial opportunities, market regulation and internal capabilities, ensuring that ideas are translated into practical and scalable solutions.
You will be given a high degree of independence and influence on your daily work. The role requires you to navigate complexity, align stakeholders, and contribute to strengthening our presence across markets.
Key responsibilities
In this role, you will drive business development initiatives from ideas to execution, working closely with stakeholders across the organisation, you will:
- Manage projects related to new markets, products and operational requirements.
- lead the development of our trading footprint across geographical markets and various trading and balancing markets
- Build insight into market design and regulation, and translate complexity into clear and actionable communication
- Understand and connect organisational capabilities across trading, trade operations, risk management, back office, software development etc.
- Manage stakeholder alignment and communication across internal functions
- Support the implementation of business development initiatives
- Handle ad hoc tasks in a dynamic and evolving business area

What we are looking for
We are looking for a senior profile who combines commercial flair with a solid understanding of the power & gas markets. You are comfortable working with both opportunities and risks, and you thrive in a role with high responsibility and cross-functional collaboration.
Must-have:
- Minimum 3–5 years' experience from a similar position
- Commercial flair and a good understanding of how the trading markets operate
- Understanding the different aspects of entering and implementing power and gas markets – experience within the field of asset trading is an advantage.
- A relevant degree in engineering, finance, economics or similar
- Fluency in English, both written and spoken
- Ability to work with market design, regulation and business complexity
- Strong stakeholder management and communication skills
