Do you enjoy analysing fast-moving markets and making decisions when conditions change? Are you curious about energy trading and motivated by taking responsibility while continuously learning from the market and your colleagues? Then you could be a strong fit for our Spot Gas Trading team in Singapore.

The team

You will join our Spot Gas Trading team in Singapore, which focuses on optimising the company’s asset portfolio, managing market exposure and generating trading profits. Working across shifts, the team combines spot trading, futures hedging and market analysis, with knowledge sharing and constructive feedback as an integral part of how we work.

The role

As Gas Trader, you will execute within-day and day-ahead trades in European gas markets during European night hours. You will respond to market developments, manage positions within agreed risk limits and contribute to portfolio optimisation.

The role can suit both an entry-level candidate with strong analytical skills and motivation to learn, and someone with relevant trading experience.

Key responsibilities

You will work across short-term trading, risk management, portfolio optimisation and market analysis while ensuring continuity between shifts.

  • Execute within-day and day-ahead gas trades during European night hours.
  • Manage positions and exposure within approved risk limits, regulatory requirements and internal procedures.
  • Execute futures hedging strategies when appropriate.
  • Identify opportunities to improve portfolio profitability, including acquiring short-term transportation capacity.
  • Monitor contractual and security of supply obligations and take timely action when required.
  • Deliver clear handovers on positions, market developments and recommended actions.
  • Assess overnight events and their potential impact on futures markets.
  • Review trading performance, document key learnings and share insights with the team.

You will thrive in this role if you are curious about markets, enjoy taking ownership and feel comfortable making decisions when things move quickly. You should want to understand what drives the market, learn from the outcome of your decisions and keep improving. And because trading here is a team effort, it is equally important that you enjoy sharing your thinking, listening to others and working towards the best result together.
