Portfolio Manager (Gas)
Would you like to work at the heart of the European gas markets, where analytical insight and commercial judgement go hand in hand? As Portfolio Manager in our Gas Portfolio Management team, you will play a central role in sourcing and optimising gas assets across Europe. This is a position where your analysis directly influences trading decisions and commercial outcomes.
The team
You will join the Gas Portfolio Management Team at Norlys Energy Trading A/S in Aalborg. The team is responsible for sourcing and optimising gas assets across the European gas markets, participating in primary and secondary market auctions, engaging in bilateral negotiations, and valuing gas assets.
The team works closely with traders, analysts and risk managers, and operates close to real-time market developments. It is a commercially driven environment where analytical depth, collaboration and clear decision-making are essential.
The role
As Portfolio Manager, you will drive the execution and ongoing development of storage capacity strategies across European gas markets, applying quantitative analysis and commercial insight to support asset valuation, auction participation and strategic positioning. The role offers significant ownership, with direct involvement in asset‑related decisions, collaboration across trading and risk, and contributions to the tools and models supporting portfolio management. You will work at the intersection of analytics, strategy and commercial execution, as you will value gas assets, support commercial decision‑making and provide input for developing analytical tools in collaboration with software developers and quantitative researchers. In addition, you will monitor tariffs, fees and regulatory developments.
What I like most about this role is the responsibility. You get real ownership of storage strategies and see the outcome of your decisions directly in the portfolio. It is hands-on, commercial and very close to the market.
