Quantitative Developer
How do you turn complex data into trading decisions that matter in real time? In this role, you will develop quantitative models and software that power intraday trading strategies, working closely with traders and technologists. The team you’ll be joining
The Intraday Analytics team operates at the forefront of quantitative trading, using sophisticated models and automated systems to execute trades with efficiency and precision. The team works in a collaborative and dynamic environment, bringing together expertise across locations and disciplines. You will work closely with both traders and developers, contributing directly to how strategies are developed, tested and executed in the market. Innovation, teamwork and a shared focus on performance are central to how the team operates and delivers results.
Your role
As a Quantitative Developer, you will develop and implement models, tools and workflows that support and enhance intraday trading and optimization strategies, with a particular focus on BESS optimization. Your work will be used directly in the trading flow, supporting decisions in fast-moving intraday markets where timing and accuracy are critical.
You will collaborate closely with traders and developers to analyze large volumes of market data, identify patterns and opportunities, and translate insights into robust, scalable solutions. The role offers a strong learning curve and the opportunity to both refine existing approaches and contribute to new strategies in a live trading environment.
What you’ll be working on
- In this role, you will work across quantitative modelling, data analysis and software development to support trading performance and execution:
- You will develop and implement quantitative models to enhance BESS trading strategies.
- You will analyze vast amount of trading data to identify trading opportunities and improve decision-making.
- You will collaborate closely with trading and technology teams to optimize execution processes and workflows.
- You will conduct research to develop new trading strategies and refine existing ones.
- You will build and maintain software that enables fast and reliable execution of trading decisions in intraday power markets.
You will be working close to real trading decisions, where your models and analyses are used in practice. It’s a role where you get hands-on experience quickly and can see how your work translates into action in the market.

Must-have qualifications
- An advanced degree in a quantitative field such as finance, statistics, data science, mathematics or software development.
- Programming skills in Python, C-sharp (C#), or similar languages.
- Experience with data analysis and statistical modelling.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and strong attention to detail.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced team environment.
- Have experience from an energy trading company, or have prior experience with optimization of assets is a plus.

- Strong sense of urgency.
