Software Developer - Trade Operations Development

At Norlys Energy Trading A/S, we're on a mission to accelerate the green transition through smart energy trading. Based in Aalborg, our Trade Operations Development team builds and maintains the tools that help drive real-time energy market decisions with a focus on enhancing the company’s connectivity to energy markets and venues. As a Software Developer here, you'll be part of a dynamic environment that blends cutting-edge software engineering with a purpose-driven industry.
Key responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain high-performance and scalable software tools for our trading operations
- Contribute to software architecture decisions and continuous improvement of our systems
- Take part in operational duties that ensure our trading tech stack runs smoothly
- Collaborate with stakeholders across departments to deliver solutions with impact
- Stay up to date on industry best practices and emerging technologies to ensure our application architecture scales with the business.

What we’re looking for
- A master’s degree in computer science, software engineering, data science, or a related engineering field.
- Solid experience with software development in a professional setting
- Ability to contribute to both architecture and operational aspects of systems
- Strong collaboration skills and willingness to engage with other teams
- Comfortable working from our Aalborg office
We value existing experience, but the willingness to learn and grow on the job is more important. You are likely a good match for the position if you have experience with some of the skills listed below:
- C# (.NET) or another object-oriented language
- Familiarity with SQL
- Microsoft Azure or another cloud platform
- Message brokers or event streams
- REST or gRPC APIs
- React and TypeScript
- Experience within the energy sector
