We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Meteorologist to join our dynamic team at Norlys Energy Trading. As a Meteorologist in our Power Team, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring the efficient and profitable operation of our energy trading strategies.

Key Responsibilities

  • Monitor and interpret weather data from various sources to provide accurate and timely weather forecasts.
  • Analyze meteorological data to assess risks related to weather-related disruptions to energy supply, demand, and transportation.
  • Collaborate with energy traders and analysts to understand how weather patterns can influence energy prices and trading strategies.
  • Stay current with long-term climate trends and their potential impact on energy markets.
  • Assist in the development and improvement of meteorological models and tools used for energy trading and risk management.
  • Clearly communicate weather-related insights and forecasts to the trading team.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or higher in Meteorology, Atmospheric Science, or a related field.
  • Proven experience as a meteorologist with a focus on energy markets, trading, or risk management.
  • Strong knowledge of weather forecasting, meteorological models, and data analysis.
  • Proficiency in using meteorological software and tools.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills to convey complex meteorological information to non-technical stakeholders.
  • Ability to work under pressure and make quick decisions in a fast-paced trading environment.
  • A keen interest in energy markets and the ability to connect weather patterns to trading strategies.
  • Understanding of energy trading principles is a plus.
